Nekocon is an anime convention that has been going on in Virginia since 1998.
It's had fairly popular stars and known groups come by as guests.

For this year, Nekocon will be held on November 7-9
The convention starts on Friday and ends on Sunday

The regular hours are:
Friday: 12 PM - 2 AM
Saturday: 9 AM - 2 AM
Sunday: 9 AM - 4 PM

As far as pricing for membership:
Individuals - Full Membership At the Door: $50
Friday Only At the Door: $40
Saturday Only At the Door: $45
Sunday Only At the Door: $35

Full Membership with Pre-registration: $40 (DEADLINE is OCT 4 2014)

There are currently sign-ups going on for staffing if you want to try to have a chance to get in for free but at the cost of doing work for nekocon. Here's the Link

As far as hotels go there are a lot of hotels available for rooms during nekocon. As far as I know all of the hotels do discount rooming if you go to nekocon. The information for this year is not available.
